Colour management is critical in all printing processes, however package printing customers have one of the highest demand in colour accuracy and consistency as a lot of printed products feature specific brand colours that need to be on point. The introduction and implementation of digital printing workflows to the direct to object printing markets is creating new opportunities but also new challenges in order to define and produce accurate colours. Printing accurate brand colours directly onto objects and containers can be especially challenging as materials and surfaces are hard to measure and transparent or coloured substrates are creating new requirements for colour management workflows. The presentation will outline the requirements for communicating brand colour information from design to print and focus on solutions to meet the demands of brand owners and print producers.
