Noel Mitchell graduated from RMIT University in Melbourne with a diploma in Applied Chemistry in 1970. He later obtained a diploma in Marketing from Monash University . In 1970 he joined BASF as Development Chemist and later became Marketing Manager Acrylic Dispersions. In 1988 he joined Jackstädt in Australia as Sales & Marketing Director and in 1993 he moved to Germany to become Marketing Director for the group. In 2005 he left , what was then Avery Dennison, to join UPM Raflatac as Vice President Global Business Development. In his last 5 years before retiring he was VP R&D, Films responsible for the development of machine-direction oriented films for label applications. Since July 2016 , he is an independent consultant working in the fields of adhesives, labels, films and packaging .
